History:On the night of December 20/21th, 1942 a Lancaster commanded by F / S LE Moriartytakes this part in an attack on the German city of Duisburg. At 18.13 hours, theLancaster took off from it’s base Elsham Wolds, never to return. The Lancaster crashedin Driehuizen. The reason for the crash has never become clear, the plane is probably a victim of theGerman flak. In this crash, the entire crew is killed.
